Our Tale

A Barrie Institution For Almost 40 Years!

It’s been nearly 40 years since Fox’s humble bakery-beginnings. Today, their team has grown to over 32 great staff, including Steve, Craig and frequent visitor, original bakery master, Erma Fox. They look forward to sharing the next chapter in this “tail”!

A True Family Business

The beginning of a new era: in December of 2007 Steve made the pinnacle decision to break-away from the Buns Master franchise and, after careful deliberation, Fox’s Bakery and Delicatessen was born.

25th Anniversary
A Dream Come True

New millennium, new bakery! On January 17th, 2000 Steve Fox opened doors to Fox’s Buns Master Bakery. In Steve’s words, “It was a dream come true!”

Coming Home To Barrie

The end of 1999 was an exciting time for Steve Fox! The Fox family’s original Buns Master Bakery in Barrie was available for purchase. Steve, with help from Ross and Erma, purchased the bakery on December 24th, 1999.

A Change of Scenery

The beginning of 1989 was bitter-sweet as Ross, along with his sons, Steve and Craig, headed to Windsor to launch and operate two Buns Master Bakeries. Steve used their opportunity in Windsor to learn, all the while remembering his roots in Barrie.

A Growing Business

Barrie residents loved their Buns Master Bakery, and the business continued to operate successfully well into the late 80’s. In fact, Ross and Erma’s location was consistently one of the top 5 stores out of 110 Buns Master franchises.
